Earlier I demonstrated the weaknesses of the upward and downward bar strike. A viewer respectfully disagreed. Of course, there are many techniques that you can do, but maybe you should ask if there is a better way.
I find that there are lots of fun techniques, and cool techniques you can do, but if you envision a scenario involving an opponent with a knife, it very quickly weeds out the weaker options. And keep in mind you often don’t know the opponent has a knife until you’ve been cut or stabbed.
I think there is a better way, and this falls in line with what I believe is the strength of a vertical orientation versus a horizontal orientation.
