“I’d Just Shoot Him.”
The title of this blogpost refers to the commonly heard nonsense, "If somebody came at me with a knife, I’d just shoot him." Sadly, many of the guys who mouth off like this may not even own a gun, and if they do, it’s at home in the closet.
These two videos show how dangerous someone with a knife is. In both cases, even though the police are aware that a perp has a knife, the cops come very close to getting stabbed. Keep in mind that these officers have full-size duty guns, unlike the smaller, less accurate concealed handguns many civilians carry.
In both cases the assailants are shot multiple times, but do not go down immediately. Realize that your gun is not a death ray, and that anyone you shoot is still a deadly threat.
