The low crossblock is a move I was taught years ago. It’s even worse than depicted in the video because your stick goes into the notch in your wrist, between the ulna (forearm bone) and the hand. This is uncomfortable if not painful. My teacher assured me that in time I would develop a callus on my wrist, so it wouldn’t hurt!
I also didn’t show a possible feint, where the opponent’s wrist rolls over to deliver a high thrust. If both of your hands are down, you’re vulnerable.
